... with a new series where we introduce you to the clever people behind the brands and design pieces you love.  This month, meet the talented and driven Miranda Osborne, founder and creative genius behind Ico Traders.

Miranda and her family are based in Christchurch and weathered the devastating earthquakes in 2011.  This prompted a change of direction for Miranda and Ico Traders was born.  Miranda has designed each piece herself, and many hours go into perfecting them.  "These pieces are designed to outlast fashion trends and will sit comfortably within any interior or exterior style. While so many of today's products are disposable, our aim is to make timeless designs that can be passed onto the next generation".

Last year we introduced some of Miranda's range to our collections - the Fruit Bowls and All Day Trays were an instant hit!  We have now added several stand-out furniture pieces - scroll down to find out more.

     

Just like the little black dress, the All Day Tray can take you effortlessly from breakfast in bed, through to morning tea, lunchtime, afternoon smoko, all the way through the cocktail hour, onto dinner time and right up to late night suppers!!  Pretty much, but you'll wonder how you managed without one!

The stylish Benmore Bench seat can be used at the end of a Queen or King sized bed, is exactly the right height for seating at a dining table and is the perfect size for a hallway or foyer space.  The solid metal plate is moveable, allowing you to place it where ever you want on the seat, down the bottom to rest your shoes or plants on, or remove all together.

   

      

 

     

     

 

"Each design is manufactured using a hand crafted method, shaping and spot welding every wire, to create both strength, comfort and style, the wires are placed closely together for seating and surprise all with how comfortable they are.  Cushions are aesthetically pleasing, but totally not necessary".

Guaranteed to create an impact when hung, the Hokianga hanging chairs are powdercoated in Ico Traders' exclusive range of colours, with a PVDF basecoat for durability & rust resistance, for use indoors or in sheltered outdoor areas.  We have a limited quantity of these amazing hanging chairs, with more stocks not expected in New Zealand until May.
